It has been my privilege to be a part of the Saint Bernard's community for the last 18 years. I began my time here first as a substitute teacher then as multi-age teacher in the grade school. After a couple of years, I moved into the middle school where I specialized in teaching science.
The family-friendly atmosphere of the Saint Bernard's community is what inspires me daily. To know all of the students and to be able to watch as they matriculate from one grade to the next is really a blessing. Admist their learning, their families become a part of the culture and with parents as the primary educators to their children, a true partnership is formed between home and school.
Our students are truly the "Saints, Scholars, Ladies & Gentlemen" that we strive for and I could not be more proud of their success both in and out of the classroom.
Check out the information on our web-site regarding the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Saint Bernard's is a currently a candidate school and we are looking forward to an authorization visit next school year. At that point, we hope to become a fully authorized IB World School! Teachers and students in preschool through fifth grade participate in the PYP. The work they've done this school year has been incredible! Check out classroom web-sites as well to learn more about the PYP in each grade. |
