 Welcome to Saint Bernard's Middle School German Program.  Saint Bernard's is very fortunate to be able to offer a world language to all students K-12.  In the middle school, the 6-8th graders choose between German I (open only to 8th graders) and German language & culture.  The culture course is 6 weeks long and the German I course is a year-long course.  In today's global society it is more important than ever that we teach our youth to be tolerant of all cultures and open to learning new languages.  The German curriculum is based in the national language guidelines as supported by ACTFL (American Council in the Teaching of Foreign Languages) and includes the five C's in its curriculum: Communication, Culture, Communities, Comparisons and Connections.
