ENGLISH 9A OR 9B
The focus of this course will be on the study and implementation of traditional grammar and composition skills. Students will also become familiar with various genres of literature - short stories, poetry, plays and novels - and will become skilled in interpreting and writing about literature.
Prerequisite: Placement is based on High School Placement Exam and previous teacher’s recommendation.
Grade 9 - Required 3 Trimesters
*English 9A may be taken for honors credit. The student wishing to take English 9A for honors credit must have a recommendation from his/her eighth grade English teacher and score in the 90+ percentile on the High School Placement Exam. In addition to completing the regular 9A curriculum, the student registered for honors credit will also be expected to complete all course work with a 95+ percentile proficiency. |
