Read the newspaper! Saint Bernard’s receives the Pioneer Press daily. Students who need current event articles may cut out items needed from previous days papers.
Read magazines! Saint Bernard’s subscribes to many magazines. The current issue can be read in the library and back issues can be checked out for 14 days.
Do research! The reference collection, website and online databases will help you with your school assignments.
Type a paper or create a PowerPoint presentation! Use one of the computers to do your typing or create projects. Be sure to bring a flash drive or diskette to save your work. PowerPoint presentations with lots of pictures are too big to fit on a diskette.

Move the furniture! Tables, chairs and comfy reading area is arranged to allow students to move freely around the library. Students may not rearrange the furniture.
Print whatever you want. The printer is to be used for printing information needed for school assignments and projects. Students must ask before they can print. Do not waste paper.
Play on the computer! No games, emailing, myspace or facebook on the school computers. Don’t ask to have the watchguard put on because the answer is no!
Why am I getting an overdue notice?
Overdue notices are sent to students who have not returned their library materials.
High School overdue notices are distributed by advisory teachers. If after two notices, the library materials are still not returned to the library, students will receive a detention.
Middle School overdue lists are given to the middle school teachers every week.
At the end of each trimester, students with overdue library materials will have their grades held until the library materials are returned or fines are paid.
What if I lost or damaged a library book?
Students are responsible for the library materials they check out. If an item is lost or damaged, please see Mrs. Jameson as soon as possible. The fine for lost or damaged materials is the cost to replace the item.
