Dear Sixth, Seventh or Eighth Grade Band Student,
I am writing to invite you to participate in the Saint Bernard’s Honor Band 2009. This band will include seventh and eighth graders from Catholic Schools around the Twin Cities area as well as more advanced sixth grade band students. All are welcome to attend. This experience is intended to offer you an opportunity to play with other musicians in the area and to encourage continued participation in band. If you participate in Saint Bernard’s Honor Band-2009 it is expected that you will prepare your music before our first rehearsal and attend most of the rehearsals and the concert.
The Honor Band rehearsals and concert will be directed by Mrs. Beth Beebe Tradup. Beth Tradup is the Director of Bands at Saint Bernard’s School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Music Education in 1986 and a Master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum from the University of St. Thomas in 2000. Beth Tradup has been Principal Percussionist of Grand Symphonic Winds and has served as percussion coach for the Minnesota Band Director’s Association Honor Bands. She currently performs with the Kings House Band, Minneapolis Civic Orchestra, Bloomington Symphony Orchestra and Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band.

The concert will be held in The Church of Saint Bernard, 187 Geranium Avenue West.

Music and final instructions and music will be sent to you by December 20, 2008.
