ENGLISH 11A
Trimester one of this course focuses on British Literature from Anglo-Saxon times through Shakespeare, as well as on composition, with a particular emphasis on the research paper. Trimester two continues with a survey of British Literature from 1660 to the present and further refinement of composition and literary analysis skills. Trimester three is an introduction to the world of public speaking and competitive forensics (debate) in which the students will enhance their public speaking ability and strengthen their critical thinking and persuasive writing skills.
Prerequisite: Placement is based on teacher recommendation.
